Full Learning Assessment
£650

An individual full learning assessment would involve approximately 2-3 hours of direct work with the young person, exploring cognitive skills, literacy skills, processing skills and memory (as well as taking into account other areas such as attention and concentration, social and emotional needs, etc.).  This can identify a Specific Learning Difficulty, such as Dyslexia, as well as focusing on strengths and areas of need.  The assessment could take place at the young person’s home or at their school.  Information would also be gathered from parents and school staff.  Observations in school could be carried out if felt appropriate/necessary.  A detailed report is written after the assessment, including the assessment scores, interpretation of these scores and recommendations (including strategies to help at school and suggested access arrangements for exams, if appropriate).

Consultation Work and other Involvement

(such as dynamic assessment work,

observation, 1:1 work with children, group work, etc.)
£80 per hour
When a full diagnostic assessment is not relevant, appropriate or required, other involvement could include observations of the child in school, dynamic assessment work (this an interactive assessment focused on the learning process and learning potential), problem-solving discussions with key adults (parents, staff, other professionals) and/or individual work with the child to gather their views and further explore the issues from their perspective.  These involvements would vary in length depending on the nature of the work.
